Let me build your aerobic engine

Quick update, Meatheads: 9 of the 15 seats in The Meathead Engine Project are taken.

That leaves six. Enrollment closes tonight, Friday, at midnight Pacific.

Six months of aerobic programming built around your lifting, your recovery, and your current level of conditioning.

Not some recycled cardio spreadsheet dug out of a dusty folder from 2017.

Actual programming from yours truly, adjusted as you progress, with testing on both ends so we can see what the hell actually happened.

We fire up the engines Monday, October 12.

Grab one of the six remaining seats.

Before I turn off the lights, three things.

1. Six Seats Left

I'm building these programs by hand.

Not hiring an army of interns to shovel generic Zone 2 prescriptions into TrueCoach while I sip margaritas on a beach somewhere.

You get me.

Fifteen people is what I'm willing to commit to for this pilot.

No secret sixteenth row of seats or stuffing 200 Meatheads into the cargo hold and hoping nobody notices.

2. Lowest Price. Period.

Should I run this again, the price goes up.

And there's a legitimate chance I won't run it again as it all depends on my time next year.

I've spent well over a decade testing, experimenting, and refining the physiology behind this approach.

That part isn't new.

What's new is delivering it to a group of lifters for six months, making individual adjustments, answering questions, and keeping everyone moving toward a better aerobic engine.

I'm committed to everyone who signs up. Hence the cap.

3. Your Job Is Wonderfully Unsexy

Open TrueCoach.

Do the cardio.

Repeat.

I'll handle the initial assessment, programming, weekly adjustments, Carbon Voice questions, and retesting.

No cardio scavenger hunt or spending three hours on PubMed trying to figure out whether your Zone 2 became Zone 3 because Mercury is in retrograde.

Better yet, no asking AI to "build me the optimal cardio program" and getting back a half-hallucinated pile of digital dog poo that has you doing Norwegian 4x4 intervals seven days a week while sacrificing your squat to the aerobic gods.

We're going to build your engine from YOUR baseline.

Progress the work.

Adjust it to your recovery. And keep the lifting you actually give a damn about.

Come spring, I don't want your big achievement to be:

"Well, I did some cardio."

Congratulations. So did the guy chasing the bus.

I want you to have a measurable improvement in your aerobic system.

More work capacity.

Better conditioning.

An engine that doesn't sound like a dying lawn mower every time you push the pace.

Planning a fat-loss phase next spring?

Even better.

Imagine entering that phase with six months of improved conditioning already in the bank instead of trying to build an aerobic engine while simultaneously starving the poor bastard.

Build the engine first.

Then put it to work.

Join The Meathead Engine Project.

Doors close tonight, Friday, at midnight Pacific.

After that, I'm done talking about it.

If you're in, grab your seat and we'll get rolling Monday.

Otherwise, zero hard feelings. I'll see your magnificent mug in the newsletter.

Much love, mitochondria, and violent consistency,

Dr Mike

PS- If "someday" has been your cardio plan for the last year, today is an unusually convenient day to murder someday.

Enrollment closes tonight at midnight Pacific. Grab your seat.

Super stoked about the response to the Meathead Engine Project so far. I’ve gotten a few versions of the same questions so instead of letting those objections reproduce in the dark like unsupervised gym socks, let’s kill the big three. “I Don’t Have Time For Cardio” I get it. No self-respecting Meathead wants to spend 12 hours a week pedaling toward nowhere only to emerge with a blistered keester and an exciting new hatred of bicycles. Me neither. That’s exactly why the goal here is: Get the...

If you missed last night’s email, or skimmed it while life was throwing furniture at you, here are the full Meathead Engine Project details I want to tell you why I’m doing this for six months. The Number Was Dog Crap For years, I made the same mistake a lot of lifters make. My lifting was programmed. Cardio was…stuff. A little Zone 2 here. Some harder work there. Maybe a heroic rowing session when guilt finally won the argument. I was training hard, so I figured my aerobic system was “good...

Quick question: who's actually programming your cardio? Nobody? Oh crap… You are not alone; I see this all the time. Your lifting side is pretty dialed. You've got a split, progression, numbers you chase, and a pretty good idea of what Monday looks like and you rarely miss a lifting session. Cardio, however, gets the drunken-cousin treatment: "Uh... I guess I’ll do some Zone 2." Then it wanders around the backyard unsupervised until you forget it exists. It’s time to fix it so you can recover...
