Macros and Micros for More Strength and Muscle

Hola from Weatherford, Texas — where the winds of grit and steel blow strong and the grip strength flows like bourbon at a biker wedding.

The wonderful wifey and I are posted up here with the legendary Adam and Ashley Glass.

Yesterday? Oh, just a casual afternoon arm-wrestling with beasts and working on my grip journey to dominate the 175 lb Inch dumbbell.

Here’s the dirty secret I was reminded of: once you’ve nailed the basics — the big meathead movements, the glaringly obvious nutrition foundations — it’s the tiny shifts that hit like dynamite over time.

Call ‘em micro-movements.

Subtle, sneaky, and devastating when done right.

A tweak here, a twist there — suddenly your grip locks like a steel trap and your progress spikes like a bat outta hell.

One adjustment yesterday will likely pay off for months. Maybe years.

And this is exactly the same with nutrition.

Yeah yeah, we all know macros matter. Protein. CarbZ. Fat. All the usual suspects. But you wanna level up?

Get weird with your micros.

We’re talking magnesium, B12, omega-3s, zinc — the nerdy alphabet of gains that most lifters ignore until they’re foggy-brained, sore for days, and wondering why they feel like a soggy biscuit despite 200 grams of protein and "clean" eating.

That’s why inside the Flex Diet Cert (yep, it reopens June 16) — we don’t stop at macronutrients and leave you for dead in the vitamin desert. You get full interventions on protein, fats, carbZ (with a Z, obviously), and deep-dive protocols on micronutrition, NEAT, exercise, fasting, and sleep.

Because it all counts.
And when the details stack up, the results explode.

So here’s your unfiltered truth bomb:

Monitor your micro-movements. Mind your micronutrition.

Get freakishly consistent. Embrace the boring details.

Violent consistency for the win!

And then? Watch your performance erupt like a volcano on a caffeine drip.

Much love,
Dr. Mike

PS – Tomorrow I’m dropping something that’s got a real-world value of $120, and you’re getting it on me. No gimmicks. No upsell. Just badassery.
Stay tuned — it’ll hit like a kettlebell to the face (in a good way -if that is possible- hahah)

I know what you’re thinking: “Oh great, another darn nutrition app… kill me now.” ...but wait—before you roll your eyes so...

In this episode of the Flex Diet Podcast, I sit down with Aaron Straker for a deep dive into his journey from natural bodybuilding to the enhanced side of the sport. We talk openly about the trade-offs, risks, and insights he’s gained along the way, including the use of compounds like testosterone and growth hormone. We also get into the mental and physical shifts that come with that transition, and how Aaron approaches training, nutrition, and recovery with intention. He shares his thoughts...
