The Secret Sauce for More PRs

Last night, under the blood moon and the steady hum of metabolic chaos, I flung open the gates once again to the Flexible Meathead Cardio Course.

Yes, it’s BACK.

Yes, it’s everything I poured into the March live version – and now you get instant acces to all of the videos.

And yes, if you’re already enrolled, you’re covered as this is still the Level 1 on Aerobic Metabolism.
Level 2: Anaerobic Metabolism? Still hitting in July like a caffeine-injected gorilla. Stay tuned.

…But if you’re still standing on the sidelines thinking…

“Cardio? Boo. I’ll just squat until my soul leaves my glutes.”

No so fast there Meat-Wizard

I’ll bet you a stale-ass gas station fish sandwich that the thing standing between you and the next level of strength, recovery, and glorious hypertrophic resurrection...

…is your cardio capacity.

Here’s the dirty truth:

Your gainZ are governed by how fast you recover.

Between sets.

Between sessions.

Between those “holy sh*t I can’t feel my legs” deadlift days.

And what controls your recovery engine?

Your aerobic metabolism.

If your cardio system is the equivalent of a rusted-out 3-cylinder Yugo held together by expired creatine with a fistful of wishful thinking combined with chicken wire and duct tape….

… then every rep is redline.

Every session is a grind.

Every PR attempt is a gamble with the gods of overreeaching.

Now imagine swapping that engine out for a big-block V8...
Or a freaking V12 Lambo of aerobic power.

Suddenly:

· You recover faster between sets

· You crush more volume

· Your heart rate actually drops after a hard set instead of fluttering like a terrified bat on DMAA.

· You stop needing to snort pre-workout of the bathroom counter just to finish a leg day

More work + higher quality work = more gainZ, period.

Still don’t believe me?

Let’s roll out some testosterone-soaked truth from natural bodybuilding warlock and elite coach Bryan Boorstein.

Here is what he had to say:

“I began working with Dr Mike in Fall of 2023. On a podcast, we had been discussing my unexpectedly low VO2 max score from a Metabolic cart test.

Dr Mike had some great ideas on how we could go about increasing the VO2 max.

Once my longer endurance bike season ended, we embarked on our work together.

We decided that the Concept 2 Rower would be our modality of choice. My first 2K Row test, I achieved 7:23.

A few weeks later, I hit a 7:14, and then our work really began.

Through meticulous programming, and an extremely effective progression model, consisting of both steady state and interval work, we reached "testing time" once again.

To be clear, I wasn't sure I'd be able to beat 7:14. That was right around the same time I had achieved in 2011, when I was competing in CrossFit, and arguably the "fittest" I'd ever been.

But I cranked out a 7:03 for the 2K row, which was ~300 watts avg, and just over 3.5 watts per kilo (which is a higher VO2 max output than I would have ever dreamed of).

As spring time emerges, I am going back to longer endurance work, but I know once bike season ends in the early fall, I'll be getting back in contact with Dr. Mike for another round of miserably effective VO2 max work! –Bryan Boorstein”

Boom.

The result?

More output.

Better recovery.]

Leaner, meaner, oxygen-sucking machine of a human.

Now YOU can get the entire 5-module course:

· ~90 to 120 min per module

· Brutally effective action steps complete with never shared here protocols

· Giant Q&A segments

· Guest interviews with VO2-max Jedi masters like Dr. Kenneth Jay and Dr. Phil Batterson

· And…all delivered in the language of the Flexible Meathead™

This is NOT some "zone 2 made simple" fluff.

This is applied physiology wrapped in barbell grit and lactate regret.

The launch price?

Still in effect.

But the doors slam shut Monday at midnight PST.

Enter the temple of cardio and emerge with lungs of steel and biceps full of blood.

P.S. I don't care if you hate cardio. I built this course specifically for you
Because meatheads deserve to recover like monsters too and now you can be 100% certain that your aerobic efforts will not be in vain!

Ninety.Six.Days. That’s how long this meathead—yours truly—has been doing cardio. Not by accident. Not occasionally. Not when the weather was nice.Every darn day. In a row. Like some lunatic on a mission to find his VO2 max soul. The streak started on Feb 8, mid-sunburn in Mexico.Three weeks of tacos, tequila, and Zone 2 sweat.Even with spicy food, trying to evacuate my colon like it owed someone money… Cardio. Got. Done. Then we were yeeted back to the frosty armpit of Minnesota. Did I fold?...

This is the single greatest increase in VO2 max I have ever seen published in a trained population. Ever. I have been obsessed with cardiovascular training research since I first cracked open an anatomy textbook in 1993, when cell phones were bricks and creatine was the new magic powder. Since then, I have: ✅ Performed hundreds of exercise tests in labs and at the Extreme Human Performance Center using metabolic carts. ✅ Worked 12 years for a cardiovascular med tech company, buried in data...

The Question: Is there any difference in training men vs women, and will that be covered in the course? At first, my gut reaction was “nah, not really”—but then, because I refuse to let a stone go unturned, I started digging. And wouldn’t you know it, a new study dropped in Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise that might flip this whole thing on its head (1). So buckle up, grab some coffee (or ketones, if you're feeling fancy), and let's get weird as we go hard down the nerd chute. The...
