Gym Tune of the Week: Sick of it All "Us vs Them"

One of the most iconic hardcore bands of all time. Yes, I’m talking about Sick of It All.

This is one of my favorite songs from Built to Last, the first album I ever heard from them. In fact, this CD has been in my gym for 23 years, and it has never left.

Unfortunately, we lost Lou this past week after his long battle with cancer. He was only 59.

Lou was one of the greatest frontmen to ever do it. I was lucky enough to see Sick of It All live a few times many years ago, and the energy at their shows was unbelievable.

I never had the chance to meet Lou, but everyone I know in the music industry had nothing but love and enormous praise for him, not only as a frontman, but as a human being.

Rest in power, Lou.
You are missed, loved, and will never be forgotten.

"Brother - I'll always look out for you if I feel it back
Sister - we'll brave the outside world off the beaten track
When it's us vs. them you can always count on me When it's us vs. them
it's a global unity

Open the extended family
The family is growing fast
Friendship will transcend the borders

The world is shrinking fast
Cities merge on state of mind
There's nothing wrong with that

Don't need any more stupid division
Don't fall for their trap" --Lou and Sick of it All

Much love,

Dr. Mike

Hola from the flying germ tube at 30,000 feet having just left Columbus, Ohio, where your favorite nerd just checked off a goal so big I had to read the invite three times to make sure my brain wasn't cooking itself on the flight home. Yesterday I rolled into the Elite FTS compound in London, Ohio. Yes, that EliteFTS powerlifting equipment mothership, and sat down as a guest on Dave Tate's Table Talk podcast. Honored is not a big enough word. Let me back up. Twenty-two years in the making...

In this episode of the Flex Diet Podcast, I sit down with Attorney Rick Collins, Esq., NSCA-CSCS — one of the top defense lawyers in the sports nutrition and dietary supplement space. Peptides like BPC-157 and TB-500 are showing up everywhere right now, and Rick breaks down why most of what's sold online as "research chemicals" are actually illegal, and why the FDA's upcoming Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee hearing could reshape the entire gray market. We also get into why the GLP-1...

Creatine has once again been dragged into supplement court, shoved into a metal folding chair beneath a flickering fluorescent bulb, and accused of crimes serious enough to make your tub quietly reconsider its legal representation. For years, the usual charges were almost quaint: Kidney destruction. Dehydration. Muscle cramps. Hair loss. The occasional claim that creatine will make your liver pack a suitcase, leave town, and start a new life under an assumed name in Witness Protection. This...
