WOD Wally

You ever met WOD Wally?

Dude hits the Echo Bike like it stole his pre-workout.

Clocks a 30-second all-out sprint, then gives himself 12.7 seconds of “rest” because “Fran didn’t rest, bro.”

He’s the patron saint of sweat angels and bad decisions.
And he’s everywhere.

PF

Your local CrossBox.

That guy huffing in the corner of 24 Hour, yelling “LET’S GO!” to no one in particular.

WOD Wally means well.

He thinks he’s doing HIIT.

But what he’s really doing is just enough work to feel wrecked, and not enough rest to adapt.

It’s the worst of both worlds:Too intense for recovery

  • Not intense enough for performance
  • No actual gainZ in anaerobic power after the first 4 weeks
  • Constant fatigue
  • Delusional belief that soreness = progress

He is easy to spot too – just look for the Bro with his adrenals around his socks.

WOD Wally doesn’t understand this one brutal truth:

Output drives adaptation.

And if your rest sucks, your output crashes.

And if your output crashes, your physiology gets no stronger because the stimulus was less.

The WOD Wallys of the world are grinding into the same muddy ditch, day after day.

In Level 2 of the Flexible Meathead Cardio course, we obliterate this mistake and save all the WOD Wallys of the world.

We teach you:
How to time rest periods so your power output stays savage
How to measure and track REAL adaptation (not just soreness)
How to program anaerobic intervals that don’t nuke your lifting
And how to stop before your CNS files a restraining order

Level 2 is open for enrollment right now.
Deadline: August 12 at midnight.

No BS.
No burpees.
No fake intensity.

Just real anaerobic performance for lifters who want to train smarter and recover harder.

Happy Sunday! I hope your week is going well. I'm back home and finally in a groove with work and training again after a ton of sleep. Sleep is good. Hahaha. Here is what went down this week Newsletters: Creatine and Your Brain: Here’s why creatine may matter far beyond muscle and why brain stress, sleep deprivation, and contact sports change the conversation entirely. No Gym? No problem, do this: Here’s why bodyweight training can humble you fast and why effort, tension, and control matter a...

One question I get on the road to violent training consistency is: “What do I do if I don’t have any equipment?” Ah yes. The ancient fitness panic. Rack? Missing. Cable stack? Gone. Dumbbells? Also vanished into the remodeling abyss. Just you, the floor, gravity, and the cold realization that your own bodyweight has been sitting there the whole time like a loan shark in sweatpants. This came up recently with one of our employees, Suzie, out in Colorado. Both gyms she normally uses are being...
