Exercise + metabolism in a box (for a good cause)

Hola from sunny and uber windy S Padre where today isn't your usual lecture on eccentric tempos or the divine mystery of mTOR.

Nope.

Today’s message is about a box.

A literal box.

And it might be one of the most meaningful things I’ve ever helped create.

Not long ago, the nonprofit gang over at We Care hit me up and asked:

“Hey, could you curate our April box on Exercise Prescription?”

Didn’t hesitate. Said yes before they even finished the sentence.

Why?

Because these maniacs aren’t just slinging resistance bands and fish oil, they’re on a mission to give real, evidence-based health tools to the people who need them most—not just concierge clients with platinum cards and personal saunas.

We’re talking about nurses, doctors, students, burned-out clinicians, and everyday badasses trying to stay ahead of the reaper in a system that makes it darn near impossible.

This box isn’t some affiliate grift.

I don’t make a dime off it.

I even gave back the honorarium they offered. Straight up donated it to keep the mission going. Not for clout. Not for likes. Just because it matters.

What’s in the Box of Metabolic Mayhem?

Here’s the rundown of this absolute unit of a care package — like a Swiss Army knife for your physiology.

-Stelo Dexcom CGM (Continuous Glucose Monitor) No script needed. Stick it on and watch the numbers dance. Want to know what your blood sugar does during deadlifts, fasting, or after that late-night bourbon binge? Boom. You’ll see it in real time.

-Resistance Bands Basic? Sure. But like duct tape and coffee, essential. Travel with them, train anywhere, and turn your hotel room into a temple of tendon-shredding fury. Bonus: perfect for mobility work when your spine feels like a stack of stale pancakes.

-Omega-3 Index Test It’s the cardiac lipid crystal ball. EPA/DHA levels = a legit marker of systemic inflammation and recovery capacity. Think you’re good? Prove it. Most people are walking around in a fog of low-grade inflammation with the heart profile of a microwaved Pop-Tart.

- Astaxanthin Supplement The sleeper agent of antioxidants. Helps rebuild those mitochondria after you’ve murdered them in back-to-back WODs. Good for brain, blood, and maybe even that weird post-leg-day limp. I take it. Still upright.

-CME Credit You’ll also get access to a certified course I recorded—on how to actually use all this stuff. No fluff. No magic beans. Just straight science, translated into action.

Why This Matters

Look, I love tech. I love data. I love fancy supplements and smart programs.

But at the end of the day, real change happens when we stop preaching and start putting tools into people’s hands.

Tools they can use to self-regulate, self-measure, and self-direct their damn health—without waiting six months for an insurance approval or a gatekeeping guru to anoint them with enlightenment.

And your purchase helps someone else down the road get access to it too.

No hard sell.

No clock-ticking funnel of doom.

Just an honest chance to do something cool—for you, your clients, and someone you’ll never meet who really needs it.

Much love and protein-fueled purpose,
Dr. Mike
PS - This is the April box, but We Care drops a new one every month—topics like sleep, recovery, nutrition, even mental health. It’s like a Netflix subscription for health optimization… if Netflix gave CME credits and cared about your HRV.

PPS -Let me know if you grab one. And if you slap on that CGM or find out your Omega-3s are in the toilet, I want to hear about it.
