Leverage

Let’s talk about the one equation that runs your entire coaching career (and you probably weren’t taught it in any cert you’ve ever taken):

Coaching Leverage = Physiologic Effect ✕ Client Ability to Change

That’s the secret sauce.

It’s how I coach, how I build the Flex Diet Cert, and how you stop wasting hours on interventions your clients will never actually do.

Because here’s the truth:
If it works great on paper but your client can’t do it → it’s useless.
If it’s easy to do but changes nothing → motivational candy.

Example time.

Protein = High Leverage.

  • Physiologic effect: massive — recovery, satiety, metabolic rate, muscle repair.
  • Ability to change: easy — just add 30 g to breakfast and boom, instant win.

Sleep = Low Leverage (behaviorally).

  • Physiologic effect: god-tier — hormones, HRV, recovery, mood.
  • Ability to change: brutal — try telling a new parent or stressed client to “just sleep more.”

So when we run the leverage math:
Protein = 9 ✕ 9 = 81 leverage score
Sleep = 10 ✕ 2 = 20 leverage score

This is why protein changes lives faster than another “sleep hygiene” handout nobody reads.

That’s the core of the Flex Diet Cert.
You’ll learn how to find the right lever at the right time — across 8 interventions:
Protein, Carbs, Fats, Sleep, Fasting, Training, NEAT, and Micros.

And those interventions are ranked in order of the highest coaching leverage early in the cert, so you can apply them with your clients in record time.

It’s how you go from reactive guesswork → to precision coaching based on physiology and psychology.

And if you need CEUs before year-end?
You’ll rack up official credit while you actually learn something useful:

NASM: 1.9 CEUs
AFAA: 15 CEUs
ACE: 2.3 CEUs (Course #CEP228449)
NSCA: 2.0 CEUs (Category C, 20 contact hours)

That’s four major certs checked off in one shot — without falling asleep.

Doors slam shut Monday at midnight CST.
After that, it disappears into the metabolic void until Jan 2026.

Much love, leverage, and metabolic chaos,
Dr Mike
PS -Leverage isn’t sexy. It’s not Instagrammable.
But it’s the difference between being a good coach and a dangerously effective one.

PPS- you will get my personal help with anything in the cert. I will do whatever I can to help you with any of the material as you get my private email.
