Weekly Wrap Up April 26, 2026

Happy Sunday from S. Padre Island, where I'm working away, waiting on the wind.

As you've noticed, I've been pummeling your neurons all week.

You've survived a week of my unloading a significant portion of my brain into your inbox on temperature, pH, lactate, ketones, CO2, cross-adaptation, and one Canadian firefighter whose heart rate hit 190 in a burning building.

That's a lot of physiology for a week.

Some of you read every word, and I'm sure a few of you got three deep and then life happened, which is fine, that's what Sundays are for.

Either way, here's the full week in one place so you can catch anything you missed before the cart closes tomorrow (Monday) night.

Everything sent this week — click anything you missed:

Mon AM — Why you can't just optimize harder

Mon PM — Fragile is not a personality

Tue AM — Cold water vs your gainZ

Tue PM — This increased GH by 1600%... for real

Wed AM — Fast Action Bonus FAQ

Wed PM — The myth of lactic acid

Thu AM — Lactate

Thu PM — 4 Fuels For the Win

Fri AM — How to use this "waste gas" to improve performance

Fri PM — Deep Dive: Breathing & CO₂ with Martin McPhilliey

Sat AM — The Dirty Secret of Real Resilience and Progress

What's still on the table when you enroll:

The cert itself — all four pillars, 40+ action items, the technical deep dives, the integration model, and my private email for questions.

The Red Light Therapy Masterclass — 6 videos I built exclusively for Dr. Andy Galpin and Dan Garner at Biomolecular Athlete. Never released publicly. Yours at no extra cost.

The Meathead Cardio Quick Start Guide — the aerobic engine work that feeds directly into CO2 tolerance and pH buffering. I tried to build this into the cert. Realized it needed its own universe. The Quick Start is your entry point.

All of it closes when the cart closes — Monday, April 27, at midnight PST.

I want to tell you about Andrew Martin. Andrew is a firefighter in Canada, which already puts him several levels above the average physiology dork pontificating about “resilience” from a climate-controlled office with a laptop, an Oura ring, and the emotional intensity of damp toast. He’s been collecting heart-rate data during actual emergencies. Not lab-coat pageantry on a moving belt. This was not a simulation cooked up in a lab with ethics forms, safety rails, and some intern holding a...

In this episode, I sit down with respiratory and sleep scientist Martin McPhilimey to take a deep dive into breathing, CO₂ regulation, and how they actually impact performance, stress, and sleep. We get into why respiratory physiology is way more complex than most people think, how his clinical and research background shaped his approach, and why breathwork exploded during COVID with names like Wim Hof and James Nestor. From there, we dig into allostatic load and why piling on high-stress...

CO2 is not what you think it is. Neither is your pump pre-workout. A few years ago I watched a very fit, very serious athlete fall apart in a repeated sprint test like a luxury sedan losing all four wheels on the freeway. On paper, he looked bulletproof. Strong.Lean.Well-trained.The kind of athlete who makes coaches say stupid things like, “Yeah, he can handle anything.” Except he couldn’t. First 60 sec sprint on the Concept 2 evil rower looked good.Second sprint looked fine.Power at the...
