Weekly Wrap Up March 22, 2026

Wow…what a week. I tried to take 5 flights just to get to a Mastermind in Vegas—finally rolled in about a day late thanks to a Minnesota snowstorm.

Then straight back into reality with a pile of deadlines waiting for me when I got in late Wednesday.

Good times.

Here's what went down this week.

Newsletters:

  • David Protein Bar Lawsuit: A deep dive into the David Bars lawsuit that breaks down what’s actually happening with EPG, calories, and real-world physiology, so you can understand what matters (and what doesn’t) for your own nutrition.

Coming up:

  • The Phys Flex Cert will open again on Monday, April 20, 2026, for 1 week. Mark your calendars. Much more info coming up.
  • My good buddy Dr. Tommy Wood's massive book “The Stimulated Mind" releases April 21, so check it out at your favorite bookstore. I pre-ordered many months ago, and I am stoked to read it. If you want to stave off cognitive decline, this is for you and your clients.
  • Dr. Tommy's also getting ready for his next Strongman Comp in 2 weeks. If you want to see how I set up his programming and why, hit reply, and if enough people vote, I will put out a video.
  • I'm speaking at the Sport Pharmacy Summit April 10-11th in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. CEUs Available: For Dietitians - 8 CEU hours; NSCA - 0.8 CEU
    • Discount code: DRMIKE to receive a special price of $99 (regular price $219). I negotiated a cheap rate for you, and I make nothing off ticket sales. Great lineup below!

Gym Tune of the Week: Lamb of God “St Catherine’s Wheel

I'm loving their new album in the gym! Wahooo! Great new single here. As you know, I am a huge LOG fan. Fun fact - I saw Randy in his first band before LOG at Milwaukee Metal Fest over 2 decades ago.

My buddy from the music industry, The Rev David J Ciancio, said I had to see these guys play live, and they did not disappoint. Randy ran back and forth on the tiny stage like a crazy animal, barking into the mic while a half-burned cig stuck to his lower lip for half the set. It looked like he superglued it there. Hahaha.

I am stoked to see LOG live this Tuesday with The ‘bog, Fit for an Autopsy, Kublai Kahn, TX too - what a line up as I love all those bands. Leg Wed will be harsh, hahaha.

Much love,
Dr Mike

You ever have one of those nights where you tell yourself“I’m just gonna check one thing real quick” …and three hours later you’re deep in a PDF about non-absorbable triglyceride analogs wondering if vitamin K depletion is the hill you die on? That was me last night and previous days too. ..Because David Bars got sued. And once a protein bar lawsuit hits federal court, my brain does not let that go.Not because I care about internet drama.......but because I care about dose-response curves,...

In this episode of the Flex Diet Podcast, I sit down with coach Kevin Dineen to talk about where fitness and healthcare are headed and whether their merger is a net positive or negative. We dig into why people still default to asking physicians about training and nutrition, the problems created by siloed systems, and what a more client-centered model could look like with coaches, PTs, massage therapists, and physicians collaborating under one roof. We also discuss the pros, cons, and...
