How to Master Nutrition Coaching...the Easy Way

Let me paint you a picture: I’m curled up in the fetal position surrounded by a mountain of scientific journals, empty cold brew cans, and the ghost of 18 years of formal education whispering in my ear, “You still don’t know enough.”

That was my journey to mastering nutrition coaching.

It was a chaos-fueled, stress-saturated, wallet-murdering odyssey through academia, PubMed rabbit holes, and enough failed client plans to fill a small cemetery.

But here’s the good news: your path doesn’t have to suck large moose ballZ like mine did.

Flashback to 2020.

A seismic shift hit like a truckload of pre-workout.

Trainers everywhere got smacked in the face with the realization that online nutrition coaching wasn’t just possible—it was profitable, sustainable, and kind of awesome if done right.

Suddenly, my inbox was flooded with DMs and emails like:

· “How do I start nutrition coaching online?”

· “What the hell is metabolic flexibility and why should I care?”

· “What’s the magic formula for client compliance that doesn’t involve screaming at them to eat broccoli?”

So today, my beautiful glucose gladiator, I’m peeling back the curtain on what it really takes to coach nutrition without losing your sanity, and how the Flex Diet Cert was forged from the metabolic fires of my personal and professional meltdown.

Let’s Back Up…

Before I was running a remote coaching business, traveling with my wife whenever we wanted, and living off the grid doing metabolic testing and snowboarding or kiteboarding in exotic places—I was a walking disaster.

In high school?

I was about as athletic as a soggy churro.

I had the physique of an eel shape rake—6’3”, 155 lbs, growing pains, heart defect (ASD), and a lazy eye patched with medical-grade scotch tape.

Sports? Ha. I was the kid that got picked after the traffic cone and then an argument ensue about “do we have to have him play or can we play just 1 person short?”

I didn't hate them for it. I hated me for it.

And then I got obsessed.

Obsessed with answering the question: Can you build an athlete out of someone who was literally built like a malfunctioning scarecrow?

The Education Spiral of Doom

I graduated high school early. Thought I’d crush college. Instead, I crushed my soul.

7.5 years for undergrad and grad work in mechanical engineering, just to end up working 12 years for a cardiac tech company while secretly dreaming about sets, reps, macros, and metabolic rate curves.

Then I did what any rational person would do:

· Jumped into a PhD in Biomedical Engineering.

· Realized I love learning and was hated even more advanced math.

· Switched to Exercise Physiology.

· Spent another 7 years full time to finish it while testing real humans at 5am in a lab.

This wasn’t a career path. It was a scientific hell circuit designed by Kafka and programmed by Louie Simmons.

And yet…

It gave me the framework to create something better.

Enter: The Flex Diet Cert

In the middle of my caffeine-fueled existential crisis, I realized something: Nutrition coaching didn’t need to be complicated, but it darn well better be correct.

So I created a system based on:

· Real science (like metabolic flexibility, not whatever some half-assed garden gnome GooRoo posted to IG that day).

· Behavioral psychology (because your clients are humans, not spreadsheets).

· Simple, actionable interventions that don’t require a degree in endocrinology to understand.

Jodie, my amazing wife, built the online platform. I created the content. I plugged in 20 years of data, trial and error, and peer-reviewed muscle-building sorcery into a system that actually works.

Now?

It’s used by elite coaches, complete beginners, PhDs, and meathead trainers who want to do things better…

…but don’t have a spare decade to mess around.

What You’ll Learn

· How to create nutrition plans that actually get results—based on metabolic flexibility

· How to simplify complex science into real client action

· How to coach both plant-based and meat-fueled monsters without ideology getting in the way

· How to build your online nutrition biz in less time than it takes to explain insulin on Reddit

Oh, and I give you:

· 40 explicit action steps

· The complete system to know exactly how to apply the action items

· Complete email access to me so I can personally help you

· Interviews with legends like Dr. Stu Phillips, Dr. Jose Antonio, and others
