Hola from somewhere in the vast, corn-infested wilderness of Kansas! I'm currently 8 hours and 2 energy drinks deep into my annual Fall migration to South Padre Island, Texas. My butt has officially filed a formal complaint with management. I pulled off the interstate to give my backside a temporary pardon, check on client emails, and tell you about something that I think is pretty damn cool. Technology No, not AI taking over the world and turning your toaster into a sentient killing machine.. ..Although Bryan Krahn and I did get into the AI madness on Tuesday's podcast. I'm talking about technology that actually makes hitting your health and fitness goals easier. Especially when your schedule looks like a dumpster fire rolling downhill. Case in point? My favorite protein bar on the planet right now: David Protein bars. I've already demolished two of these bad boys today. Why? Because they pack a ton of protein into surprisingly few calories. It's damn near nutritional wizardry. And when you're trapped in a rolling metal box for 10+ hours, that's a beautiful thing. Here's the deal. When life gets busy, protein is often the first nutritional casualty. Work explodes. Kids need stuff. You're traveling. Your calendar looks like somebody attacked it with a flamethrower. Suddenly your perfectly planned 40-gram protein lunch has become three crackers, half a banana, and whatever you found underneath your driver's seat. "Just meal prep Bro" Sure. In a perfect world, we'd all have freshly cooked chicken, rice, and vegetables waiting for us at precisely scheduled intervals every single time. Maybe a personal chef riding shotgun. And a microwave strapped to the roof. But back here on planet Earth, convenience matters. A good protein bar isn't a replacement for a solid diet. It's an insurance policy against the chaos of real life. And David bars are currently my favorite edible insurance policy. Now they have a pumpkin version for Fall. Because it's October, and apparently federal law requires everything to taste like pumpkin for the next 6 weeks. Grab the pumpkin David bars << Full disclosure: I'm a David Protein affiliate, so if you buy through my link, I make a few shekels. Enough to fund my increasingly alarming energy drink habit? We shall see. Got questions? Fire away. I'll get back to you at my next road stop tomorrow as I continue my migration toward Weatherford, Texas. Until then, keep lifting heavy stuff, eat your protein, and remember: The best nutrition plan in the world is useless if it only works when your life is perfect. Much love from the Kansas asphalt, Dr. Mike P.S. My butt and I are currently negotiating tomorrow's driving schedule. The Phys Flex Cert closed a midnight PST and huge thanks to everyone who enrolled. Super stoked for you!! Today I sit down with my longtime friend Bryan Krahn, a personal trainer since 1997, CSCS since 2005, full-time online coach since 2014, fitness writer and author of two books with Men's Health. Will AI replace online coaches, or only the ones who stop being human? Bryan and I get candid about why paying for expertise makes you a better coach, how we each use (and distrust) AI in coaching...
Hola from the Lexus dealer. Black Sunshine, my 2017 GX460, threw a check-engine light. Two hours later, the verdict… ...some furry little bastard had chewed through the wiring. Warranty coverage? HA! Apparently rodent wire buffets are on me. Speaking of unexpected stressors, the Physiologic Flexibility Certification closes TONIGHT at 11:59 PM Pacific. Here's why that matters. Life WILL throw some massive stressors your way. Could be tomorrow. New yeart. Or a tiny electrician with teeth...
Roscoe gets the morning off which is nice way to say that he is benched for his red light fiasco the other day. Today, I want to tell you the real reason I built the Physiologic Flexibility Certification. And since enrollment closes tomorrow Monday night, you deserve to hear it. For almost 20 years, I've watched smart coaches and dedicated athletes do everything "right." Training? Dialed in. Nutrition? Solid. Sleep? Pretty darn good. Yet somehow... Their results hit a brick wall. One client...
